II. Agency Works on Presidential Initiatives:

• NBII Metadata Workshop: On November 2-3, Sharon Shin (USGS Center for Biological Informatics) and Jennifer Gaines (Office of Biological Informatics and Outreach) conducted an NBII Metadata Workshop at the USGS Northern Prairie Science Center in Jamestown, North Dakota. Thirteen science center and one Missouri Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit participants attended the training sessions. An additional 12 science center staff members attended the introductory segments of the workshop covering concepts and structure of metadata. (Sharon Shin, Denver, 303-202-4230)
