II. Agency Works on Presidential Initiatives:

• NBII Team Receives Unit Honor Award. On October 13, Director Groat presented the Unit Award for Excellence of Service to the Metadata Content Standards Development Team "in recognition of outstanding contributions to increasing access, dissemination, and use of biological information as part of the National Biological Information Infrastructure of the U.S. Geological Survey." Signed by Secretary Babbitt, the award was presented to Anne Frondorf of the USGS Office of Biological Informatics and Outreach, and Susan Stitt and Maury Nyquist of the USGS Center for Biological Informatics. Stitt also received a Unit Award for her role on the World Wide Web Home Page Development Team. (Susan Stitt, Denver, 303-202-4234)
