I. Key Department News:

  • BRD Web Pages Easy to Update; More Secure: Staff at the USGS Center for Biological Informatics have moved the Biological Resources Web site <http://biology.usgs.gov/> to a Linux server, in response to security concerns associated with older servers. The new server uses FrontPage extensions, allowing BRD content managers and publishers to update their pages remotely using FrontPage software. (Mike Zavori, Denver, 303-202-4228)
  • CBI Assists GCMRC. USGS Center for Biological Informatics staff member John Clark completed a two-week detail to the Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center (GCMRC) in Flagstaff , Arizona, to assist them with their transition to the USGS, effective October 1.
