I. Key Department News:
USGS Scientist to Lead the Development of NTM Sourcebook: Karl Brown of the Center for Biological Informatics, will participate in the classified Federal Applications of Satellite Image Information (FASII-3) Conference on December 14, 2000 in Chantilly, VA. Brown will work with others to identify sections, areas of expertise and contributing authors and define the process for the assembly of the National Technical Means (NTM) Sourcebook. Other participants will include representatives from the National Imagery and Mapping Agency, Department of Defense and USGS. This effort will dovetail with the USGS Advanced System Center to assist interdisciplinary science efforts by describing, in both classified and unclassified versions, possible approaches and methodologies available to scientists wishing to utilize and learn more about the NTM program.
