I. Key Department News:
Latest issue of GAP Bulletin now available: The 2000 issue of the Gap Analysis Bulletin, the ninth in a series of annual publications produced by the National Gap Analysis Program, will be mailed to subscribers this week. The Bulletin will also be available via the Web at URL at www.gap.uidaho.edu/Bulletins/ and hard copies may be obtained by e-mail request to brackney@uidaho.edu. GAP Bulletin No. 9 features 14 articles on various aspects of gap analysis methods and results. Topics addressed include land cover mapping, animal distribution modeling, applications of GAP data, and partnerships. As always, the Bulletin includes a section on the current status of each GAP state project. This issue also contains summaries of 10 final reports from recently completed GAP state projects. II. Agency Works on Presidential Initiatives:
National Biological Information Infrastructure and Environment Canada Training Partnership: The NBII will provide a one-day NBII metadata workshop at the 7th National Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Network (Environment Canada) Science Meeting May 5, 2001 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
