  • USGS Scientist to Assist Incident Mapping Course: Karl Brown, the DOI PPS/GPS Coordinator with the USGS Center for Biological Informatics, will serve on the training cadre for the GPS for Incident Mapping course in Sacramento, CA from April 22-26. This course provides GPS mapping skills to fire, search and rescue, EMT, and E911 personnel from DOI agencies, state and local fire departments, and academia. In the third year of development, this course provides the National Wildfire Coordinating Group in Boise, ID with a set of lesson plans, exercises, and CD based powerpoint materials for incident management training.
