Invasives Phase I - Plants
Inventory, Mapping, and Monitoring USGS Workshop November 13-14, 2001 Midcontinent Ecological Science Center, Fort Collins, CO
GOAL: The goal of this workshop is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the invasive plant inventory, mapping, and monitoring needs of the Federal bureaus, and to initiate a comprehensive national proposal to meet those needs.
OBJECTIVES: · The USGS will develop an integrated scientific proposal focusing on inventory and monitoring, with an emphasis on mapping, of invasive plants on Federal lands. · The proposal will clearly define the protocols for a standardized approach for data collection and automation. · The proposal will further define the development of models based on the analysis of the data to predict potential locations of invasive species.
