This 19th objective list of new ostracode taxa includes references available to me after January 1, 1997. Because information was not available to me during preparation of the 18th list, three nomina nuda previously described are listed herein: Masezhnikovites Orlov, 1990, p. 94; Spinosa Orlov, 1990, p. 94; and Sinodarwinula (S. Guanzhungensis) Lee, 1981 in Huang and Wang, 1988, p. 391.

I thank my colleagues who have provided me with reprints on Ostracoda. The Zoological Record, vol. 132, Section 10, Crustacea (ZR) contains several references to Paleozoic generic and suprageneric taxa proposed during 1996 and earlier that are not available in the USGS and USNM libraries. Those unavailable references are listed by name, year, and item number in the ZR References in bold characters. Those references in ZR previously listed in Cypris are noted by comment (see Cypris 19xx).
