PLGR and Datums

Question: 1. On the PLGR+ the NAD27 datum appears to be broken down into four datums.

    1. NAS-C North America
    2. NAS-D Alaska
    3. NAS-E Canada
    4. NAS-N Central America
I am interpretating this to mean that #1. the NAS-C is the standard NAD27 Conus and the others 2-4 are some type of fine tuning of this datum, and that the USGS maps (at least in Alaska where they just say NAD27) are based on #1 not #2. Can you shed any additional light on this matter. One thing that bothers me about this interpretation is that NAS-C (which on the unit says conus) in the manual doesn't say 1927 it just says North American (see page 3-35).

2. We get configuration errors on editing the waypoint databases. Have you or others successfully been using this feature of the program. If so I will keep trying to figure out why my configuration is not working. Its too bad that there is no way to feed back information to the PLGR from ASCII files, maybe the next version of the software?

Observation: We may want to set up some kind of FAQ site for information that all the people who have these units could deposit their observations. How about the ITS FTP site? Mailing them out like you are doing is also great.
