Current PLGR and Accessories procurement strategy:

The current strategy is a two-source procurement, buying PLGRs from Rockwell International, and buying accessories from 3-D Marketing LLC. Rockwell International still remains a sole-source for PLGRs. 3-D Marketing was awarded a contract to supply many of the existing accessories to the Military. 3-D Marketing also carries the additional accessories that FCAs have been ordering from other sources, such as external batteries and Hi-gain antennas.

ORDERING PLGRs:

1. Each Agency GPS Coordinator will provide information to their agency on the procurement process and provide support and guidance on ordering.

USGS orders, regardless of method, will require written authorization from your Team Coordinator. Biological, National Mapping, Water Resources and Geologic Team will contact Rick Spengler at 303-236-5050 x283. See the DOI Coordination web page at URL: http://biology.usgs.gov/gps/doi/doi-pocs.html A $125 price reduction was granted on 2/20/00 due to reduced Security Module costs.

2. Government Credit Card and Purchase Orders for PLGRs will be accepted by Rockwell Collins.

3.   All FCA personnel who are authorized to order PLGRs will notify Rockwell at the time of order, that the "Letter of Authorization" will be supplied by their Agency GPS Coordinator.

4.   Each Agency GPS Coordinator will provide Rockwell International a "Letter of Authorization" from the Joint Program Office (JPO), Los Angles AFB, CA, covering the installation of the PPSM and AOC for each PLGR purchased.

5.   PLGRs will be sold on a first come, first served basis up to the available 150 PLGRs per quarter. PLGR orders there after will not be filled until the next 150 PLGRs are built during the next quarter.

ORDERING ACCESSORIES:

3-D Marketing LLC. will be offering PLGR accessories individually and in two Kits: the Standard PLGR Kit and the Optional PLGR Kit.

3-D Marketing LLC will accept Government credit cards and purchase orders.
