Attribute_Accuracy_Report:
Points were created from GPS data recorded in the field using a GarminMap76S GPS with WAAS enabled real-time differential correction. Digital point locations were verified over digital USGS topographic maps (DRGs).
Logical_Consistency_Report:
ESRI point geometry. All point features are unique. There are no duplicate points.
Completeness_Report:
Each plot is represented by one point. All points fall within the mapped polygons, except COLO.8 which falls just outside the park boundary and COLO.5 which is on land that was in park ownership at the beginning of the project, but has since been passed on to the U.S. Navy.

Process_Description:
Detailed, quantitative data from the least disturbed areas of the Park were collected in order to augment data available for a regional vegetation classification. Quantitative plot data was collected only in the highest quality stands of floristically and structurally homogeneous vegetation. These were middle to late successional stands with a composition of mostly native species and with a consistent environmental setting. An attempt was made to find at least one undisturbed sampling location for each mid-to-late successional community type in the Park. Specific plot locations were chosen subjectively in order to distribute plots across a range of site conditions and to capture stands that were relatively dominant, homogenous, and covered a minimum mapping unit area of half a hectare. Early-successional forests and heavily disturbed areas within the park were not sampled using quantitative methods. Forty-eight quantitative vegetation plots were sampled from May 1997 through May 2005. Locations of sample plots collected in the park as part of previous studies from June 1997 through October 2001 are also included.
