Mostly Mulenbergia portLots of basalt boulers intermixed w/ limestone boulders! Mostly Mulenbergia porteri w/ some galleta and alkali scaton, also scattered Ephedra and Atriplex shrubs!Around the edges at least it seems as the a shrub community dominatesThis polygon appears to be a patchy grasslands w/ intermixed shrubs like Atriplex canescens, Ericameria nauseosa, Fallugia paradoxa, Ephedra viridisThis polygon includes both a basalt outcrop and galleta mixed shrubland, with shrubs including Ephedra viridis and the dominant shrub Ericameria nauseosaOn the very edge of this polygon, thus putting me inside both this and an adjacent apache plume polygon, also Ephedra viridis is also here with about 5%.some alkali saraton in the polygon too, however not enough to be co-dominantsome hummocks, not "flat" as in keysome hummocks/areas are ERNA, little EPTOabundant ERNA, higher cover than EPTO or =This polygon is really a mix between these two map classes with several dunes mixed w/ rabbitbrush and galleta in between the dunesIntersparsed between dunes is a galleta rabbitbrush type! This consists of a few dunes and mainly galleta and rabbitbrushExcept between dunes Rabbitbrush and galleta may dominatenot much PLJA, some hummocks largely ERNA, there is some ERICOR, EPHTOREriogonum fasciculatum (?) common--this is not ER corymbosum geomorphology not really dune like but Ephedra does occur in hummocks. Some areas of the dunes are created by Rabbitbrush and the areas between dunes seem to be dominated by galleta!hummocks not well-developed in areas ; ERNA, ERCO commonon edge of polygon, it sems a bit large on S/SW side ; abundant ERNA in areasonly a few areas contain mormon tea, most are derived from rabbitbrush and galleta! This area also contains Rabbitbrush on the cinder dunes and some areas have high amounts of galletaSome areas do have slight hummocks, but nothing too noticeable! This polygon contains a fair amount of rabbitbrush on the low areas surrounding the dunesMost of this plot appears to be apache plume (~95%) with some other sparse shrubs--dunes do occur throughout the polygon although I do not see Torrey's joint firMap Label: Mound Saltbrush Badlands Sparse ; The plot took me to the middle of the although adjacent to the road is a lot of alkali sacaton and Atriplex obovatathis appears to be a mix of also Parreyella filifolia, Sporobolus airoides, and Pleuraphis jamesii w/ the dominant shrub as Gutierrezia sarothraeSubstrate=windblown sand veneer over clay badland soils but no mound saltbrush or Salsola. Herbaceous cover dominates with Sporobolus airoids. A few Rabbitbrush, Snakeweed, and IsocomaNo At obovata observed but some Atca and a fair amount of Satragos seedlings. Some Plja occurs. Mostly baregroundMix of snakeweed, rabbitbrush and alkali sacaton--None seem to do this plot justice-closest type is possibly "Wupatki Wash System"Since this polygon is only Olha it is really difficult to tell if I can in the correct polygon! This is really a mixed rabbitbrush SPAi type!None that fit was also chosen as a confidence ; Sporobolus has greater or equal cover to At obovata ; substrate does=clay badland soil but w/ windblown sand veneerMostly salsola seedlings and few Atriplex obovata shrubs! Some Salsola and one Atriplex obovata, however very sparse vegetationnearly unvegetated ; sand/clay ; some ATOBExcept we don t see much Salsola tragus here!Lots of alkali sacaton also in this areaIn some areas there is more snakeweed galleta, however overall higher mound saltbrushnearly unvegetated ; Stream Channel not at all defined; probably due to most run off events sinking below surface prior to reaching this point. On topo map plot is marked occuring in ephmeral streamAbout 3% PLJA it could partially be a sparse PLJA grasslandThis polygon does have ~1% veg. that seems to outline the polygon, including Ephedra torreyana and Atriplex confertifolia (but none of these fit in any other map label well!)Confidence also listed as Good ; Apache Plume is adjacent to plot and partially in it too!Poor was also selected as a confidence ; A small amount of FALPAR is present on substrate and setting would normally be an Apache Plume Cinder Shrubland.
