Description:

Abstract:

This shapefile is an alliance-level vegetation map of Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site developed by the Pennsylvania Science Office of the The Nature Conservancy for the National Park Service. The map is based on field work performed in the summers of 2002 and 2003 and aerial photography obtained in 2002.

Purpose:

The map is intended to represent the distibution of alliance-level vegetation types (alliance as defined by the National Vegetation Classification system) and anthropogenic covertypes (i.e., areas intensively managed or altered by humans) for the Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site at the time the aerial photography was obtained (early spring 2002).
