Description:
Abstract:
This imagery was obtained from the Arizona State Land Department (www.land.state.az.us). The NCPN obtained both the uncompressed as well as compressed versions of the imagery. A index file was sent with the data, the following blurb is an excerpt from its' metadata file because if does indicate, remotely, the origins of the imagery data: "This data set is an ESRI shapefile representing the index for the data set entitled "AZ 1-meter Digital Orthophotos" flown between June 2005 and March 2006 by the MDA Corporation on behalf of the USGS. Not all counties were flown - neither Cochise county and Maricopa county are part of this data set. This file, when used in conjunction with the images, allows the user to determine the photo date (thus ground date) of the particular area that is being viewed. The user is cautioned that some areas of the state were flown more than once and therefore, in some instances, the exact photo date is uncertain. A varying amount of overedge (between 50 and 330 meters) also exists between photos, thus dates along photos that share a common edge may also be uncertain. Also, while most of the orthophotos were created from a single source image for each DOQQ, some were produced from multiple images in order to minimize perspective related image smearing problems. For users needing to know the exact date of a particular orthophoto it is suggested that they contact the original source of the orthophotos."
