Alien Rat Control Objectives:
Star  Evaluate the efficacy of hand-broadcast methods using the anticoagulant diphacinone for rat control in native montane forests
Star  Demonstrate the efficacy of aerial applications over large areas


Accomplishments:
Star  100% of radio-tagged rats died within about 1 week of bait application in both hand-broadcast and aerial-broadcast studies
Star  Developed protocols for rat control to protect threatened and endangered plants and birds


 Significance:
Star  Highest joint priority for PIERC research identified by NPS and FWS
Star  Data will be used for EPA registration package for aerial application of Ramik Green
 Aerial application of Ramik Green Bait
