Star  Control Myrica faya, an invasive tree or shrub from North Atlantic islands
Star  Search for natural enemies in faya’s native habitats
Star  Determine agents’ host-specificity


Accomplishments:
Star  Several exploratory trips made to the Azores, Madeira, & Canary Islands
Star  Several diseases & insects observed & collected
Star  Quarantine testing for host-specificity


Significance:
Star  Faya control is among HAVO managers’ highest priorities
Star  M. faya is a nitrogen-fixer, encouraging other invasive spp.
Star  Faya is beyond conventional control
