FWS Region 6 - FY2009 Science Support (SSP) and Quick Response Program (QRP) - Request For Proposals (RFP)

Please find attached the Request for Proposals (RFP) and SSP Proposal Template for the FY09 Science Support Program and Quick Response Program. Each Research Team member should distribute the RFP to Project Officers within your respective programs (Fisheries, Ecological Services, Migratory Birds and State Programs, National Wildlife Refuge System) to solicit proposals for consideration. Proposals will be accepted in electronic WORD format this year.

Total SSP/QRP budget available for new project starts in FY08 is approximately $268,218 (SSP-$223,218, QRP-$45,000). The Regional Director may elect to reserve some portion of these funds for unforeseen priorities occurring in FY09.

All proposals should be submitted by Project Officers prior to June 1, 2007. Electronic copies should be provided to the Research Team representative for the respective program and to me. I will convene a meeting of the Regional Research Team the third week of June so that each program representative may provide a short presentation and justification regarding which proposals will be recommended by each program for Research Team review. The Research Team will then re-convene in mid-July to jointly review and rank proposals for recommendation to the Regional Director.
